Hello there, I'm Theresa.
I grew up in Singapore where I spent a large portion of my childhood under the impression that if I wasn't a doctor, lawyer or teacher at the end of my life, I'd have failed. Being interested in anything creative was not usually encouraged. The idea was to get a degree, then a well-paying job. How else would you assure yourself any security?
Then at 17, I moved to Australia (with full intention of furthering my education and completing a Psychology degree). But I met a man. A wonderful, supportive, "You can do whatever you want to, my darling", man. 4 months into our relationship, he bought me my first DSLR camera hoping one day I'd be brave enough to believe in myself. Needless to say, I married the guy.
Fast forward a few years and we have a baby. One day, I look at this kid and it hits me. I am going to do this. I am going to be a photographer because I don't think one day I'd like to tell my kids how I spent 30 years of my life finding reasons not to do what I love.
So here goes. I love taking photos. Of people, of things, of love, of life.
If you like what you see on here, contact me. I am currently looking to expand my portfolio and would love to collaborate with you.
P.S. I still haven't got that degree. (Sorry mum!)
